This painting is also part of my Edda project. The Edda is a collection of old poems. Two literary works, one known as the Prose Edda. The other one is known as the Poetic Edda.

I am using different backgrounds now (acrylic and siberain chalk) and try to make a combination between this background in paint and the drawings I’ve made lately. And on top, again paint, in acrylic or oil. Layer over layer, over layer. Chalk over paint, paint over chalk).
“DRAWTINGS”, I call them.
Or: “DARWINgs“
I am using not only siberian chalk here, but also conté and acrylic paint.

This one is more delicate, more refined. But the dark piece on the top, makes you wonder.

The Darwin project exists of two major themes. “The origin of species….” is one of them.
Here a detail of a new painting I’m working on. Only a small detail, approximately 15 by 30 cm. The whole painting is 80 x 120 cm.
Still al lot of work has to be done. Only worked on it three sessions. I’ll keep you posted!
